'13 PGA Tour Schedule Released...

This has to be one of the least newsworthy in terms of changes to the PGA Tour schedule, unless you include the end of the Fall Finish but we know that is merely the start of the 2013-14 schedule. The lack of volatility is a compliment to Team Finchem for securing sponsors in a tough economy.

There is a late Masters finish (April 14) moving the Valero event to an unusually early date for a Texas tournament that constitutes the most startling difference.

This is also a nice improvement:

• The off week during the FedExCup Playoffs will fall between the second and third events, the Deutsche Bank Championship (Aug. 30-Sept. 2) and the BMW Championship (Sept. 12-15). Another off week falls between the TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola and The Presidents Cup, which will be contested the week of Sept. 30 at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio.

On the course front, bad news for people who like their architecture...well...fun and sensical. From the Tour Report notes on 2013:

The other two changes are at the RBC Canadian Open (Glen Abbey instead of Hamilton) and The Barclays (Liberty National instead of Bethpage State Park).
