When one comes to the quality of the bunkers and other hazards we pass into realm of much dispute and argument. Primarily bunkers should be sand bunkers purely, not composed of gravel, stones or dirt. Fast Times At Piedmont Country Club: Antics That Will Make You Feel Better About Your Fellow Man

The letter's gone viral (thanks NRH) and before I had a chance to read it too closely, I see Deadspin felt it was post-worthy. Therefore, if you find any of the highjinks outlined by John C. Weitnauer in a letter about his fellow members at Piedmont Country Driving Club, it's all Deadspins fault. But if you have a few moments, you'll find the hooligans at your home course aren't as bad as you think.

A flavor:

one member decided to show off to other members, and a caddie, his ability to pick up a golf ball with his naked butt cheeks. I suspect that this behavior — if it occurred at Bobby Jones Golf Course — would have resulted in a call to the police and the arrest of the offender.

"We have taken disciplinary action based on what we currently know to be true. We take this matter very seriously and are looking into it further. When all of the facts are gathered and verified, we will consider further action."
