When one comes to the quality of the bunkers and other hazards we pass into realm of much dispute and argument. Primarily bunkers should be sand bunkers purely, not composed of gravel, stones or dirt. Brendan Jones Expects To Boycott 2016 Rio Golf; Games Expected To Go On

On the eve of the London 2012 games a BBC viewer today would have learned that most of the people here are already bored with the entire thing and it hasn't even started yet. (I think it's safe to say, the dreary summer weather is getting to them!). But with London 2012 coming, expect to read a few stories about golf entering the Games in four years.

David Polkinghorne talks to Australian Brendan Jones who is so upset by golf's inclusion that he plans to boycott should he qualify in four years.

‘‘I don’t agree that golf should be in the Olympics,’’ Jones told The Canberra Times today.
‘‘It’s like the tennis, who even knows who won the gold medal in the tennis?
‘‘These guys are playing every week for millions of dollars and an Olympic gold medal in their house isn’t going to take pride of place.
‘‘In golf you’ve got the four majors, in tennis you’ve got the majors, I just don’t see golf being an Olympic sport.’’
