Coaches Eye Wise TV-Friendly Change To NCAA's

Lance Ringler with news of a possible change in the NCAA golf championships next year to accomodate television.

Normally that's not usually the best idea, but in the case of a sport needing exposure the idea of the exciting match play quarters and semis airing early in the week and out of the PGA Tour window seems like a stellar call.

The match play bracket would still be decided after 54 holes, and the quarterfinals and semifinals would take place on Tuesday. As it stands now, stroke play ends on Thursday, quarterfinals are played Friday, semifinals are played Saturday and the match-play final is Sunday. This change would be made so that the television broadcast, to begin in 2014, would not compete with weekend PGA Tour coverage.
