Fox Sports Gets Its Test Event: '14 Shark Shootout

Fox Sports, which was thought to be debuting its USGA event coverage in 2015 without a prior golf telecast, will take over coverage of the 2014 Shark Shootout, according to multiple sources.

An announcement with details will come Wednesday but the Shootout will likely air on Fox Sports 1. The event previously aired on Golf Channel and NBC.

Greg Norman was recently announced as lead analyst of the four biggest USGA events. He has been the longtime host of the Shark Shootout. His role in the tournament this year is to be determined, but for Fox and producer Mark Loomis' sake, Norman will likely move from a playing role in the Shootout to an announcing role.

The Franklin Templeton Shark Shootout will be played December 7-14 at Tiburon Golf Club.
