Jason Day, with two near-misses at Augusta, sounds especially ready as he prepares to arrive early, according to Mark Hayes.

“I feel very strongly about what I’m doing with my body, what I’m doing on the golf course and really confident in my ability – so this coming week is exciting for me.”

And Day, 27, whose power game and deft touch are viewed by many experts as a perfect blend for Augusta National, made no bones of his intentions.

“There’s a lot of history and tradition behind this tournament and I hold it close to my heart,” he said.

And as he hinted in recent weeks to Golf Channel's Todd Lewis and to PGATour.com's Brian Wacker, Adam Scott confirms the long putter that already helped him win one Green Jacket will be in the bag. Ben Everill reports.

Scott confirmed to AAP via a brief email he plans to revert to his trusty long-handled putter at Augusta National after using a short putter for his first three tournaments of 2015 with mixed results.
