LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Tiger Woods announced today that he has committed to play in the 2017 Genesis Open, February 13-19, at The Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif. Woods, whose TGR Live is the host of the Genesis Open, which benefits the Tiger Woods Foundation, made the announcement following his return in early December at the Hero World Challenge after more than 15 months away from competitive golf.

“I’m very excited to come back to Riviera and compete in the Genesis Open. This is where it all started for me,” Woods said. “It was my first PGA TOUR event, I was 16 years old, I weighed about 105 pounds, and it was a life-changing moment for me.”

Woods has not played the Genesis Open since 2006, and made his PGA TOUR debut at Riviera in 1992 at the age of 16. In March, the Tiger Woods Foundation, the PGA TOUR and Genesis announced a partnership under which TGR Live would manage the tournament at Riviera.

“It’s an honor to have TGR Live running this historic event that will benefit my foundation,” Woods said.

Woods returned to competitive golf this month for the first time since August, 2015, finishing four-under par in the 18-player Hero World Challenge. He has not announced his 2017 playing schedule aside from the Genesis Open.
