Ken Bowden, former Golf Digest editor and longtime golf writer best known as the man who organized most of Jack Nicklaus' thoughts into the written word, has died.
Jaime Diaz remembers Bowden as "one of the most important golf writers the game has ever known."
Said Nicklaus upon learning of Bowden’s passing, “Beyond writing all my instruction books, he was a terrific guy. Ken was a very good friend, a very good player, a very good writer, and a confidante.”
Here is an excerpt from a book of stories Bowden produced in 2008.
The Nicklaus family, along with the golf world, lost a great friend Sunday with the passing of my longtime biographer Ken Bowden. During a friendship and working relationship that covered parts of six decades, Ken and I collaborated on at least a dozen books, including “Golf My Way.” Beyond writing all my instructional contributions, Kenny was a close adviser and a confidante. He was a very good player, very good writer, and, most important, a very good friend. Barbara and I will miss Kenny and his friendship, and our hearts and prayers go out to his wife Jean. #kenbowden #golfmyway
