Texas Captures Its Fourth NCAA Title With Win Over Arizona State

Adam Woodward on the good guys at Texas winning this year’s NCAA Men’s golf title. If the Waves couldn’t win, I can’t imagine a more likable group than Coach John Fields and the team assembled this year.

Brentley Romine on that special group, headlined by seniors Parker and Pierceson Coody and Cole Hammer

Lance Ringler on how it was a team of destiny but in college golf and match play, it’s still an incredible feat.

The win comes on the 10th anniversary of Fields’ last win at Riviera, and if you haven’t seen it, Brentley Romine’s lengthy oral history of that epic win is sensational: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.

The final day also marked another sad chapter in Golf Channel and NBC Sports, as the network’s coverage was off air for around 50 minutes of the final match and viewers let them have it. Not the synergy and support the NCAA signed up for but life in the world of Comcast chintziness.
