LPGA Blog Policy More Restrictive Than Bank Bailout Guidelines

(Click on image to enlarge)Wow, these girls rock!

I dare say I qualify under these guidelines, but then again maybe not since this site is primarily a "repository for unoriginal content."

I'm just glad I'm not a suppository for unoriginal content.More importantly, when they say unoriginal content, is that an LPGA statement about the quality of golf writing today?

Geoff if you are credentialed blogger by the LPGA does this mean there will be no more "chat transcripts" from Brand Lady and Commish Finchem??? :)

If you receive credentials, you no longer own your name and likeness.

"In the event that the name or likeness of any Media Member using this Credential is included in any broadcast, telecast, photograph, flm, video or other media taken in connection with the LPGA tournaments and other events, such Media Member grants the LPGA a non-exclusive, transferable, perpetual right and license to use such name and likeness in any media worldwide, whether now known or hereafter devised."

George,
Why focus on such trivialities! :)

You really do have to love the audacity of the LPGA attorney who wrote that.

isn't that the same provision more or less that got lpga events boycotted by the usual media outlets around the time of the brand lady's advent?

thus,
It sure sounds like it.

And you now have a commercial nature, so you've got that going for you.

I like how they are basically viewing bloggers in the press tent much like caddy day at the pool in caddyshack...which probably isn't too far off. But then again, the "traditional" media can often have the same effect.

It will be interesting to apply for the first time. Even for the little guy like me.
