First Tiger Statement-Reading Question: What Timing!

Okay, unless he's announcing that he's playing the Waste Management Open next week, there is simply no good reason for Tiger to hold this statement reading on Friday.

But more importantly, what does this say about the PGA Tour's relationship with Accenture? After all, don't they have a responsibility to protect the sponsor and the field at the WGC Match Play by telling Tiger to hold his statement off for a few days? Instead, they are hosting this reading, which could have been done just about anywhere since it's not a true press conference

Gary Van Sickle Tweeted this about Tim Finchem's talk with the media at Tucson:

So either the Commissioner will do just about anything Tiger wants, or he is no longer concerned with keeping Accenture happy. No?
