O'Reilly & Krauthammer Bicker Over Obama Golfing With Tiger
Bill O'Reilly asked pundit Charles Krauthammer to talk about the sheer horror of the President taking a golf weekend and teeing it up with Tiger Woods without cameras around. And Krauthammer, to his credit, didn't take the bait despite repeated attempts.
“If the guy wants to play golf, the guy deserves a couple of days off. He wants privacy? Big deal,” he asserted, adding that it’s the “biggest non-story the media have created since the Kardashian weddings.”
He simply doesn’t understand the outrage, he said.
“The press being banned from covering his leisure activities — you don’t care?” O’Reilly followed up.
“Absolutely not,” Krauthammer replied. O’Reilly pointed to Woods’ “dubious” resume and the president lending his “prestige” to the scandalized athlete. Obama isn’t likely out there getting marital advice, Krauthammer countered.

Respectfully, you conveniently forget two things - 1) it is Geoff's blog, you are a visitor to whatever he wants to post (if you don't like it, don't show); and 2) 98% of the media OWNERS are decidedly NOT left wing. You know, the ones who actually control media things.
For me, the most amazing thing I learned during Obama's trip to Florida was that there was actually a pro sports team owner who is a Democrat.
I'm happy to relieve of such stressful, liberal thoughts in the future! Who knew it was a liberal bias to support Presidential vacation taking, especially one involving golf. And finding that view on a golf blog. Nutty!
Do these people ever leave their own echo chamber?
I disagree. The Rooneys and Maras are also Democrats. To me the most amazing thing was that there was a rich person in Houston who is a Democrat.
It's a fact that GWB spent more time "on vacation" than any other president in recent history. I can live with the big-O taking a few days to shoot 106 and drink some Stellas.
RickABQ - great pointing out the leanings of media owners. If the average American would get a clue they would realize there is no true progressive/liberal media organization in America. We have corporate media that protects/tolerates the status quo and right wing media that tries to squeeze out a few more dollars for the already untouchable/unsympathetic/all powerful with a comical smokescreen of programming. When was the last time any very popular item supported by over 60% of the population (I can think of many) ever got a fair shack in the media? Why do we have the Affordable Care Act (ObamaCare)? Because the Healthcare Industrial Complex made a deal to protect their wealth/power by ensuring that Medicare for all could never be implemented. Why did the last Republican President support an unfunded expansion of drug coverage that can't negotiate rates ensuring more profits and throwing the public interest under the bus? Because we have a mostly corporate media/corporate country that gets what it wants. Liberal media and policies would be nice if they actually existed.
If Jesus walked the earth today O'Reilly would have constant updates about the socialist crackpot teacher who keeps meeting with undesirables. His core teaching (Beatitudes) would be dismissed as unworkable ranting against meritocracy and the free market.
And the average supposedly Christian American doesn't even understand the irony
The problem with Americans, not the idea of America which is great, has always been the gap between the wonderful principles and the reality.
The President plays golf an average of 28 times a year. He plays mostly on Saturday mornings at nearby military bases around DC or groups of clustered rounds while on vacation. He plays 2 or 3 times a month and desires to improve. Sounds like a real golfer to me.....
Geoff keep up the political items related to golf. The great insights of your many followers start with golf and veer off to many wonderful tangents. THANKS.

KLG. Does it get any better?
Speaking of far right nuts, interesting that Rush' false claim of 20 million listeners is exactly the same number of people as the Viagra claims of usership......
If you pay any attention to GOP politicians the pattern is 50% like women so much they cheat, and 50% are gay, and 50% are bi as well, not that there is anything wrong with that
On my own dime, I will say this, and I am of the generation whose language usage was tat of Clinton's--- I would have said that I did not have sex either, because hands and fingers do not constitute 'sex'', as we called it then - sex was SEX-- ''all the way'', a home run, not third base- so while it mattered not, as the big oil and big banks got their mergers, the real effing, to this day young uns think that ''sex'' is diddling , and all us older guys know that sex is doodling... ""Doodle me'' ( from the REAL Casino Royale, with David Niven, still one of the BEST movies ever made
Uh, what was the question?
Enough said.
Let the man play golf.
KLG is THE MAN (YOU THE MAN, this is a golf site) among the commeters at this website and I look forward to his postings.
Fairways and greens.
He is black (the nation needed this).
He likes golf and he works at it.
Can't think of anything else but I am sure about those two.
When one starts equating Benghazi Barack with Ike, we can see the damage that the modern popular media has done.
Thanks Oprah, CNN, and MSNBC.
The notion that liberal is a bad word is ridiculous. And the media is not liberal. Must we go back to the 1971 Louis Powell memo that made the position of the attack on American business and laid the groundwork for the neocon movement that led to the stagnation of wages and repeal of Glass Steagall? The return of monopolies, banksters hoarding our wealth, the military industrial complex (er, the companies that make light bulbs, including the one responsible for those terrible broadcasts from otherwise beautiful west coast swing venues) owns the media.
I can understand being a right winger if you are a wealthy blue blood-er desperately trying to hang on to your wealth, but they need regular people to cast ballots for them (and less people to vote against them - see their attempts at voter suppression across the southern states). The sad thing is that these faithful joe schmo GOP voters are hurt by their policies they vote for, but believe the bullshit when they are told that it's those criminal liberals that are keeping them from their rightful destiny of riches (entitled, much). See, the Right knows that in order to win, everyone else has to lose. And further, there is really only one party, as the corporations and special interest own everybody's ass (with the exception of very few in power) it hasn't mattered who wins the election in quite some time.
@ubb funny you talk about the policies and hurting those that meant to help.
To libs appraently obama has compassion for the poor and the gop is just for the rich. Meanwhile, under obama, energy prices are going up, family wages are going down, 4 million fewer people employed, increased debt for future generations, black unemployment is up, a increased min wage that is only going to cost jobs for those in poverty......yes seems obama loves the poor so much that he is creating more of it.
Love how libs attack the one news network that is more conservative while the rest of the media can get away with anything (editing tapes to fit their agenda) and push obamas propaganda. Attacking the president over golf is but much, but liberal media were asking softballs while ignoring benghazi issue. don't tell me that the media isn't pushing obamas agenda. msnbc is hiring obamas campaign staff and press secretary and chris matthews wants obama on mt rushmore.
amreicans are too uninformed to realize obama is campaigning against the very things he's causing.
There were 12 attacks on embassies during GWB's presidency. Many Americans killed. I can remember the frothing outrage from the right back then, demanding inquiries, impeachments and- oh wait...
Don't you love it when people like Connor give themselves away as the Rush Limbaugh crowd as soon as the talking points start falling from their lips?
