The 65 was just his third of 10 rounds this year in the 60s, but there were flashes of the kind of play that saw him win five times last year.
"Probably the way I hit the golf ball, I felt a lot better,'' Woods said when asked what he was most pleased about. "Yesterday I didn't feel like I had much of a swing but today I hit the ball really solid, which was nice.''
Woods said there was little time to work on it after Friday's round ended late in the day and with the early-morning tee time. "I had a good range session this morning, came out the very first hole I hit it to 3 feet, spun it back to 15 feet and made the putt,'' he said.
