Fortune CEO: "Excellent Progress" On Acushnet Sale

Emily Bryson York reports that Fortune CEO Bruce Carbonari says a deal for Acushnet/Titleist:

Carbonari said the company was making "excellent progress" toward a sale or spin-off of the golf business, tax-free spin-off of the home and security business and establishing a pure-play spirits company.

Fortune announced plans to split its three businesses last December, shortly after Schaumburg-based Motorola divided into two companies and weeks before Downers Grove-based Sara Lee confirmed its decision to break up into two companies.

I'm hearing final bids are due soon and a sale decision is on target for June. Oh to know who is bidding!
