Maybe A Portrush PGA Championship Isn't A Bluff?

Ted Bishop seemed to be doing his best to make R&A Chief Peter Dawson's life miserable by suggesting Royal Portrush as his top choice for an international PGA Championship. Logistically, logically and spiritually I don't see it, but this from Ewan Murray's Guardian story makes me think it's not entirely a bluff.

From Rory McIlroy:

"I have spoken to Ted Bishop [the PGA of America's president] and spoken to Pete Bevacqua [the chief executive] about this," McIlroy said. "They approached me about it a few months ago. I would be all for it. They said it is obviously quite a long way down the road, maybe 10 years or so. But I would love to be able to play a major championship at home. That would be nice."
