A Recent Pinehurst No. 2 Review (With Lots Of Photos)

I defied my doctor's strict orders to limit my viewing of Liberty National to highlights and camera angles not showing the largest driving range fence ever, but I just couldn't resist the Golf Channel replay. Other than the first signs of a Faldo-Trump feud destined for Twitter after Sir Nick walked away from renovating Trump's other two Doral courses, the viewing triggered heart palpitations and light nausea.

So to cleanse myself, I luckily found Graylyn Loomis' freshly posted review of his round at Pinehurst No. 2 to help get me even more excited than I already was about the restoration work by Coore, Crenshaw and The Boys.

Graylyn is a University of St. Andrews junior (the poor lad) and what I love about his hole-by-hole photos is the chance to take in the same views golfers face, seeing the course on a grey day, and witnessing how much the native areas have come along. Give them another year of rain, sun, foot traffic and Pinehurst should be peaking next June when it hosts back-to-back U.S. Opens.
